Privacy Policy for UniCal
Last updated: October 29, 2026
This policy explains what the UniCal browser extension reads, what it keeps, and where your data goes.
1. Who We Are
- Author: Huong Dat Huy
- Contact Email: huongdathuy76@gmail.com
- Landing Page: https://unical.tadyuh.dev
- Source Code: https://github.com/tadyuh76/unical
2. What Data UniCal Reads
a. UEH Student Portal (student.ueh.edu.vn)
When you open the Student Portal while signed in, UniCal reads your timetable and exam schedule: subjects, class codes, times, rooms, campus addresses, lecturers shown on the timetable, and exam details such as seat numbers.
b. UEH LMS (lms.ueh.edu.vn)
When you open the LMS while signed in, UniCal reads your LMS calendar (assignment and quiz deadlines, course names, and whether an activity is still waiting for your submission). It also saves your personal LMS calendar link, which the LMS provides for calendar apps, and uses it about once an hour to check for new or changed deadlines.
c. Google Account (if you connect Google Calendar)
UniCal asks Google, through its official sign-in, only for permission to create its own calendars and manage the events in them. It cannot see or change any of your other calendars. It also reads your name, email address and profile picture to show which account is connected.
3. What Data We Do NOT Collect
- Personal information other than what is listed above.
- Your UEH password or any other password.
- Health, financial, or payment information.
- Your browsing history or data from any website other than the UEH Student Portal and UEH LMS.
- Any data for advertising or analytics.
4. How Your Data Is Used
- To create and keep up to date three calendars in your Google Calendar: "UEH · Lịch học", "UEH · Lịch thi" and "UEH · Deadline".
- To show your upcoming classes, exams and deadlines in the extension, and to build a .ics file when you ask for one.
- UniCal has no server. Your data only travels between your browser, the UEH site it came from, and your own Google Calendar.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
What is kept, and where
- Everything UniCal keeps stays in your browser's extension storage on your device: your timetable, exams and deadlines (items older than 30 days are removed automatically), your LMS calendar link, the connected Google account's name, email and picture, and your settings.
- Google access tokens are handled by your browser and Google, and are kept only for the current browser session.
- Events in your Google Calendar follow Google's own data policies.
Deleting your data
- Disconnect in the extension to revoke UniCal's access to your Google account.
- Uninstall the extension to delete everything it stored in your browser.
- Delete the "UEH · …" calendars in Google Calendar at any time.
- Your LMS calendar link stops working when you change your UEH password.
6. Third-Party Services
- Google Calendar API, to create and update your calendars.
- UEH Student Portal and UEH LMS, which UniCal reads using your existing sign-in.
- UniCal uses no analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
7. Data Security
- All processing happens in your browser. No server run by UniCal or the author ever receives your data.
- UniCal is open source, so anyone can check this: github.com/tadyuh76/unical.
8. Children's Privacy
UniCal is intended for university students and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
Changes will be posted on https://unical.tadyuh.dev.
